I am writing this list for myself as much as I am writing it for you.
Between the three little kids, holidays, and working I can't even tell you the last time I washed my hair or shaved my legs. So trying to find time to "recharge" in itself feels daunting.
Here is the thing, this week I'm finding myself snapping at the kids and those around me for silly things. I have a choice to make, push those feelings down and try harder to smile and be kind. Which let me tell you, it does not end well. For me, my body shuts down or I explode on the ones I love. These are a cue that I'm doing too much and not taking care of myself.

My Word of the year is love. Part of what I am exploring this year is if I make time for myself will that allow me to be a calmer mother, a more loving wife, a compassionate boss.
Here is what I'm going to do this week to rejuvenate after the holidays:
Read a good book by the fire
Play a board game
Give myself a facial and take a bath
Sleep 8+ hrs (don't set the alarm to wake up)
Go to gentle/stretching yoga
I wish you a Happy New Year filled with love, laughter, and joy!
