3 Simple Steps to your Happiness

Updated: Aug 5, 2020

I went in search of happiness and what I found was an unconditional love for myself. That love gave me the strength to be true to my authentic self.

Within us are these fantastic gems of possibilities, they are locked behind doors of self-doubt and insecurity.

The path to unlocking our authentic self stems from understanding what brings you Joy. It is filled with self-discovery of the little girl that we once were. It is learning to say I am enough and to form habits that power your body and mind.

I loved this part of my journey. It was fun. I laughed a lot, I loved a lot, I grew a lot. Enjoy the process of getting to know yourself and what brings you joy, good vibes, and energy.

Keep in mind everyone's Thrive formula is uniquely their own.

Below are a few suggestions to get you started on your journey:

Organization - I was skeptical when I heard that organization brings happiness. But Ladies, let me tell you it was AMAZING. I felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I love the Marie Kondo method "Does it spark joy?"

  • Read Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up (The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up)

  • Watch Tidying up with Marie Kondo on Netflix

Happiness – Gretchen Rubin wrote a book called the "Happiness Project" that changed my life. What we need to remember is that my joy may not be your happiness, and that is OK. What we want to do is find what makes you giddy, gets you excited and makes you happy.

  • Here was the question that brought back so much happiness into my life, and I hope it does the same for you. "What brought you hours of happiness as a child?" For me, the answer was reading. I used to love to read novels, something that I had not done in years.

  • Read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

Five Habits to Thrive By – If you want to accomplish amazing feats or just have enough energy to keep you with your kiddos, you have to take care of your mind and body. Ladies, sleep is #1 on the list for a reason. I have tried for years to try to "survive" on 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I WAS A MESS. I finally threw in the towel and said: “what the heck I will try 8 hours to see if I have more energy.” It was magic. My head was clear, I was focused, and I was more productive.

  • Sleep 7-9 hours a night

  • Drink 8 glass of 8oz water

  • Daily Gratitude and Goal Practice

  • Meditate for 5 min &/or move your body for 30min. a Day

  • Take a break for 5-10 minutes every hour.

Tip – Download our PDF to track your habits and how they make you feel. I put them in order of what works best for me. Some days I can't do all 5, but #1 and #2 are my constant. Share your tracker on social media and let us know how it has worked for you!

On the road to creating the life we want, the foundation is having enough love and compassion for yourself to handle the naysayers, the obstacles, and the setbacks. Set yourself up for success and pace yourself, find one new habit that speaks to you and start there for 30 days.

You got this!
